I’ve found myself wondering a lot of things during this isolation. I am currently on day 16 being at home. That’s 384 hours. 256 of those give or take that I have been awake. Lots and lots of time to think. I have been outside every few days or gone to the grocery store when absolutely necessary, but usually, I send my boyfriend. My OCD has come back full fledge since COVID, so It’s just easier to stay home.
Everybody is talking about when things will go back to normal again. People say a week, a couple of months, but no one really knows when and IF things will ever be normal again. Think about it. Everyone has now been conditioned to stay away from people, at least 2 meters anyways. If you get too close to someone in the grocery store, you’re basically given a death glare. People aren’t hugging or handshaking anymore. The majority of the population is thinking twice about touching door handles, handrails, and anything else that is public use with their bare hands. Finding hand sanitizer anywhere right now would basically be like finding gold.
Most public places have been closed. Rec Centres, Libraries, malls, practically anything non-essential businesses have been told for safety precautions to either close indefinitely or close temporarily.
These places were normal meet up places for some, or just to visit and spend time at. Now that everyone is being told to stay home, parks and pathways have increased traffic. You can only stay Indoors so long before you need some fresh air. As long as you are practicing #SOCIALDISTANCING, walks outdoors can be a nice escape from your home.
So, after all this uncertainty… Do you think things will go back to normal or will there be a new normal?
I just want to be able to see family and friends again and be able to go anywhere I want. I miss leisurely grocery shopping, and walking around in the malls.
