We are about one month, give or take, into social distancing and isolation. So how are you feeling during all of this? Some people have made normal routines for themselves even though their days are no longer normal. Set an alarm to wake up at normal work time, make some breakfast, catch yourself up on the latest COVID information. Maybe you do some journaling, maybe you let your kids play outside, but maybe you are finding it hard to function at all. Do you feel lost, and maybe feel like you have no purpose currently? Are you finding it hard to be motivated to change out of your pajamas? You're only going to put them back on later…
Many of us are struggling with being held in isolation and alone. Don’t worry. You are not alone. Everyone is talking about never having time to do anything and right now we are finding ourselves with nothing but time… but that doesn’t mean that it’s easy for everyone to clean their whole house, or reorganize their bookshelves. People are saying if you don’t come out of this isolation with a learned skill, or some kinda side hustle you are just wasting your time. This is not true. If you are having a hard time, please reach out to ANYONE. FaceTime calls have become a lot more popular since COVID, group chats too. If you are taking everything day by day and just trying to do your best with what you have, pat yourself on the back and know that you are doing whatever you can and that is more than okay.
If your house isn’t cleaner, if your books aren’t in alphabetical order or you didn’t pick up a new talent during this isolation, DON’T WORRY. Do whatever feels right for you. Do what feels best for you. Do not let social media and the ideas floating around there burden you or sidetrack you in any way.
We are all just trying to do our best. If you need help in any way.. REACH OUT. Your friends and family would love nothing more than to lend a listening ear and help any way they can.
